I’m starting the new year with a giveaway designed to grow my email list and blog subscribers. Enter for a chance to win the 10×64” katazome (stencil-dyed) runner pictured below. The runner features my garden-inspired Meadow Rue pattern. It’s 100% linen, made from a reclaimed linen damask tablecloth, and is hand-dyed with natural pigment dyes in graduated green, teal and indigo tones. I brush the dyes on in 3 separate coats, drying the work between each coat.
To enter, please complete one of the following tasks by midnight January 15, 2010 (your time zone o.k.):
- Join my email list to receive occasional updates (4-6 per year) about events, art fair participation and my online shop. (The sign-up form is directly below my Etsy shop info in the center column.) Please enter the word “giveaway” in the Code field along with your info. You’ll be required to confirm your subscription by responding to an email. OR …
- Subscribe to the RSS feed (upper right, next to my bio), and then leave a comment on this post letting me know you did so.
NOTE: If you already subscribe to my RSS feed or email updates, to be eligible for this giveaway please leave a comment on this post letting me know!
The winner will be selected at random (via random.org) and contacted by email on Monday January 18th.
Have a creative and peaceful new year, and good luck!

I am so glad I found your blog! Thanks to threadspider! BEAUTIFUL cloth so of course I put you on my google reader/rss feed. Sign me up!!
Kit, I’m trying to remember which class you took from John. I’m sure he’s so very pleased with your work. I weave most of my katazome cloth so it’s a very long process. I go over to Covelo almost every year, so maybe I’ll see you this summer. Dotty
oops! It erased my comment! I’m wondering which year you were in Covelo (3-4 years ago?). Maybe I’ll see you there this summer. I’m sure John is very pleased with your wonderful work.
Dotty – I think it requires me to approve the first comment you make … after that you are able to post anytime! I took the beginning katazome in 2004, and I remember your lovely weaving and you pasted a stencil design that looked like a giant ball of yarn (spool?), and then you indigo dyed the cloth…right? Anyway thanks for visiting and you’re in the drawing!
Hi Kit -I think I’m already on your e-mail list. This runner, like all your work, is gorgeous! I love the interaction of the stencil design with what appears to be the pattern in the linen. Please sign me up for the giveaway!
Thanks, Amy – you’re in!
I think I’m already on your contact lists. Hopefully.
I love these! You are such a wonderful artist!!!
I love your work and signed up to subscribe. I am a little frustrated in that It said that I would receive an e-mail to verify my e-mail. That doesn’t seem to happen. You do not have an e-mail listed so I don’t know how to fix this glitch. HELP!!!!
I’ll email you shortly! Thank you and sorry about the confusion! I’ll look into it…
